Lucy Bennett has sworn off matrimony. Not because she doesn’t want a life of romance, but because she could never imagine attaching herself to another when she considers herself a burden. When a young American arrives at the cottage down the road, Declan Neilson doesn’t know that his whole world is about to change. As time passes, he discovers a fondness growing, despite the fact that falling for someone who lives on the other side of the ocean isn’t exactly what he envisioned for his future. But as he witnesses her walls begin to break, revealing a heart burdened by a pain he could never imagine, he wonders if a change in plans wouldn’t be so bad.

What is the heart behind this story/why is it important that I support it?
This story was birthed during one of the darkest times in my life, & it was an idea I thought would never become what it is today; i.e., a publishable piece. I have struggled with chronic eczema for almost all my life, & I have been believing for the healing promises of God since I was eight-years-old. Though this struggle has not caused me to drift away from my faith, it can feel almost hopeless knowing the promises of God but not seeing them fulfilled. This story is an encouragement to those who are waiting on their miracle, & need a reminder that God works all things for good to those who love Him.
